What could you do in the financial world with a computer science degree ?
computer science students don't only know how to program, the programming skills gives them excellent insight views and the high maths could help them analyse things, so in what field of finance should a computer science student go (perhaps with a masters degree in finance)

If you are good at math and statistics, there is a lot you can do in the financial world. All of the big banks, investment banks, auditing firms, etc hire tons of CompSci majors to do stuff like develop forecasting models and analyze trends and risk forecasting. If you are still in school, take accounting and a couple of finance classes so you have the basic background. Also a financial derivatives class would help you a lot.

You could become a glorified secretary at first - highly paid working with all kinds of software. You'll move up. Sign up with a temporary agency to get experience at different companies. /

I have this degree and live in Indiana and I currently make $7.50 hr and hate my life. If you find anything let me know, maybe I am looking in the wrong places, but I also have 4 years of Tech Support in Sony's Vaio Department and still cant get even an entry level job. Its tough man.

A LOT. Computer Science is a branch of a Mathematics degree, so a lot of math classes are involved (think calculus and above). Any degree you wish to pursue will all involve a ton of study in the college level

I hope you love programming because they do a lot of programming and its really time consuming learning codes so hopefully your only taking like 12 units a semester or your really into this stuff or else you will have some difficulties.
3
There are a lot of factors: 1. How many classes are you taking? 2. How good is your grasp for technology (do you have a passion for it?) 3. Is your current job related to technology? You are going to have to think in a different way... depending on the program, you will also have to learn 4 or 5 computer-based languages, and how to think logically, etc. In the beginning, you will spend time changing into that mode of thinking. It may be a good idea to start slow...

If you want to do well, you'll have to study an average of 3-5+ hours for each course per week. Hours of study may vary with your aptitude for math...

Which Computer Science degree course would be most beneficial for Software/Game Design and Engineering
Which Computer Science degree course would be most beneficial for Software/Game Design and Engineering?
At one of the universities I'm looking at going to, they have 3 different degree courses-, all 5 years- B.S & M.S. in Computer Science B.S. in Computer Science, M.S. in Software Engineering B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics Please give reasoning behind your answer, I want what would make me the most marketable in the real world, and I would graduate in 2015, so I doubt the recession would still be that big of a deal.

The MS in Software Engineering would get you where you want to go

If you are an undergrad, focus on BS in Computer Science and Mathematics. Computer game design requires a solid mathematical foundation. MS in Computer Science would be good for your long term job prospects.
