When you finish your degree you can assess your skills and pretty much choose from what you want to do.

Well, if you're lucky you'll be a IT security professional. Your ability to understand code will help you determine harmful packets from non-malignant.

Can I become a USAF Officer with a Computer Science Degree

Can I become a USAF Officer with a Computer Science Degree?
I've always wanted to join the US Air Force but after college my parents pushed me into college. I'm good with computers so I'm going for a Computer Science Degree, a bachelor's degree. I know that with a bachelor's degree you can enter the USAF as a officer but my Dad say's it depends on if the USAF can use your degree. So can I become a Air Force Officer with a bachelor's in computer science??

Yes. Only specialized field such as Engineering, medical or legal..require you to have a certain degree..

Yes, but you will more likely be pumped for a desk based role rather than as a pilot.

Which State(s) offer the best pay (highest salary) for computer science degree

Which State(s) offer the best pay (highest salary) for computer science degree?
I am going to graduate at the end of this year from Seattle University with a 4years Computer Science degree. I live in Washington State and everything seems to be down. It's not like it used to be. A lot of businesses are shutting down. I am thinking about moving to New York or maybe a different state. I heard that there are a lot of jobs opening and the pays are good. I don't mind moving. So please help me decide my future.

You have amazon.com, they have openings too! But yes, I would say NYC is probably beating San Jose these days as far as high-paying software development jobs go. In any case, until you're a heavyweight in the industry, expect to be mobile. I've moved 6 times in my first 7 years after college.

How much does a computer science degree

How much does a computer science degree...?
How much does a computer science degree...? matter when it comes to the job world. How well does going through a computer science major prepare you for a career in the field? How much do employers care about a degree? How does this apply to computer engineering?

Hello...... my thoughts are.... In the "developed" world in which we live it is expected that you must have a certin leval of education in order to find a higher paying job. I have met a few people with limited schooloing who have a high IQ and met highly educated people who well....are not the sharpest tool in the shed. One thing school will give you is the basic knowlage in the field in which you choose to go into. Now what you do with that knowlage is up to you. ...no degree no interview.....C.O's could be/are missing out on some good people with no degree. ...School give you kinda basic training and up to you to develop that. some times we have to do steps 1 2 3 to get to 4 For my self I have been in a number of fields and I have learned knowlage is a good thing....something you onced learned in one field could be used in another. I hope this helps you..best of luck. Gary
